I suppose this is relevant in that the burning of incense can be a zen activity. However, I expect more beauty and unique compositional qualities in a zen picture. As presented, this seems like a snapshot of an ashtray.

that's typical for buddhism. and zen is a school of buddhism. but you can name it "ashtray"

I definitely see where this pertains to the theme, but the image just doesnt' grab me.

I've come back to this several times, and I guess the relevance is there. It just seems to be too busy and lacks impact in my opinion.
