owen, this is a community based website! If you want you can open up your own site and feature every single oh so splendid image of yours!

If you don't like it, ok I can understand that tastes are different, but how about some constructive feedback, what would you have done to make it better? Why don't you like it?

@ ChrisZ - What the heck kind of constructive comment was it you graced this image with then, dude? Tanja has actually neglected to answer a previous inquiry as to how she achieved this image. I like it, it's got something, but it's not my idea of a feature image, neither are many of the images this time around. Taste...
FYI this is a competition, masquerading as a community. It bothers people when their images get ignored, and I have to say owen-b's image #156 was marvelous, it's a feature in my book, at least when put next to this (sorry, Tanja).

I received ZERO comments for my uploaded image this time around, and I have to say that it has bothered me to such an extent that I seriously questioned whether I could be bothered anymore.
And then images like this get featured, and I begin to wonder what the hell I'm doing here.

So if Tanja wants to share with us how she processed the image, maybe we can all feel a little better about ourselves.

as for this being a competition, of course it is. what do you think it is? a convention of happy back slappers? course not! BUT! is it strictly a competition? no way! at least it doesn't feel that way to me at all! i've actually met several people online as a result of it, and a few in person, too. to me, that offers some measure of community. there's nothing wrong with competition, so long as it's done in goodwill and sportsmanship and blah blah blah. will it be perfect? no. at the end of the day this is my approach, for what it's worth to you or anyone else:

i try to take myself and my photography and weeklyshot and everything else in life *just* seriously enough to live fully, but not so seriously that the goal consumes the journey.

have fun! i have found this to be a great place filled with interesting personalities (like yours for example!) with a lot to offer both photographically and humorously and...and...and other words that end in "ly".

okay...i'm done rambling...
