It looks like Koudelka. Very nice (even if the window is not the subject).

birba said 459 days ago:

It's for sure a great image, but it doesn't fit so much the theme in my opinion

pursang said 459 days ago:

25. wish I was there

King said 459 days ago:

Could this possibly be a photo from a WWII internment camp in California? or one of those other awful places the Japanese were sent to during the war?

Very intense. High marks.

Sweet image!

pursang said 459 days ago:

King, both of my folks were in those. Mom in Manzanar and the photos that Ansel Adams took of the place have this feel to them. JIMJIM, for me this is a moving shot. Not because of any association with the camps, but because the image sets a mood and tone that goes beyond the visual. The gesture of the man's hand combined with the young boy's expression combine to tell such a story of mystery. I should have said this earlier than my short crappy comment of 'wish I was there.'

I see a shot like this, and it's all about the child, not the window. It's a great shot, and I like it very much. Not as fitting for the theme, though.

King said 459 days ago:

pursang,
I thought this might be a Kitaoka family photo. As a native Californian, my parents were deeply regretful of the treatment of the Japanese and taught me that sad history.

Ana,
You could be a little more flexible. You may enjoy life and W.S. a bit more. Stretching exercises in the mornings might help.

Ana said 459 days ago:

@ King..You sure do like to call out my name, don't you? There are two other people that agreed with me about the theme. I'm sure they'd like a mention from you also!!
And life is good, darling. *Quite good, actually.
Thanks.
:)

This is an interesting image -- I love how the little boy is caught perfectly in the frame, it is like a picture within a picture.

Flatline said 458 days ago:

Excellent image.

George said 458 days ago:

Lovely image. Such a strong feeling and mood, as pursang notes. Congrats JIMJIM!

Thanks everyone for the ratings and great comments !! this is a real surprise for some reason it was impossible for me to comment back before..
It's amazing how subjective images can be and all your opinions are always welcomed and appreciated !!!
@ king and pursang : I couldn't imagine such an intrepretation - but after reading your comments and the image back again this could have been right - I took this image last summer and I'm inside a farm looking at my son and my brother - I think the kind of processing and framing created this kind of emotional feeling...and the position of the hand such a confusion !!
@ philippe, birba and Ana : you are right, window is not "the" main subject but it's a big part of the image which is about being a witness..and woulnd't be possible without the window frame..
Thanks again every one, MERCI ;-))
