If you cropped this to get rid of the blown out woman on the left it would be a more interesting and compelling composition.

In some ways she does look a little sad, or concerned about something. But overall, I just get a sense of a couple sitting down for coffee.

I see Le Monde, and they are just outside Trinite d'Estienne d'Orves metro station. My guess is that they are Australian and are saying how fantastic the Paris Metro is compared with the terrible Sydney Citilink system. Am I close? No didn't think so. Anyway, tell me more...

I wanted to use this as yet another example of how the story "in" the picture is quite different from the story "behind" it. The girl's "sadness" in the picture was actually just a fleeting expression caught by the camera by accident (Heath saw that). The real-life couple was very relaxed and -- as far as I could see -- quite happy with the situation and each other.

I don't know what they're talking about, but she doesn't look happy about it.
I think you could have cropped off the right side. The chair in the foreground isn't adding anything here.

Very nice, except that this seems a bit out of balance. If you are intentionally using some kind of "rule of thirds" then I think it doesn't work well here. I love the expression on the woman's face--it is so full of feeling elicits sympathy. Mainly high marks.
