It's a lovely, well-done photograph that doesn't hold much interest for me beyond the photographic qualities, which are very fine.

I like the nearly monochromatic nature and that all the elements are silhouetted, and the gradient background, so impact, comp, tech, and qual get high ratings, but for relevance I'm stuck in the middle...just not sure I'm begging to know what the story is with this one (but, still a great shot).

Love the simplicity of this shot. The colour of the sky works really well against the silhouettes of the two people.

Thanks for all the comments! Isn't this a great theme? I'm having an enormous amount of fun. I think I just missed out on a feature due to the low relevance vote. Ah well...he said through clenched teeth.

This is how to get a featured image that has low average Relevance ratings yet top-notch Technique and Quality (which is okay, in my opinion).

There has been a large discussion on the WeeklyShot Google group over this situation, "The Relevance category: how relevant should this be?"

Haha, just seen this! The rating for relevance here was 2.87, which on reflection is perhaps spot on, because that seems to be how peopple were divided just reading the comments. Personally, I think it to be woth way more than that, at least 3,75. How much info do you need, for goodness sake. Use YOUR imagination, if you don't take time to study the image you'll never see the details.

zorilla had the right reaction, I thought, and my storyline was something similar. I had imagined it thus; "I need some time, I'm going away - taken a job in NYC. I need time to deal with what you've done, you selfish s.o.b.". He's speechless because he never thought that she would ever find out about an affair he was having with a woman in Madrid, especially as they live in Oslo, Norway.....
Is that good enough, King? I read your little outburst on Brant's featured image of the African schoolboys. Did you have a bad day yesterday, or are you just getting up a head of steam...lol.
