Is this computer generated?

Turfdigger said 806 days ago:

This is a Canon 5D image that has been heavily post-processed for color shift effect - essentially curves and inversion layer stuff.

This is an incredibly different perspective. I like the work you've done on it. I think this would be a great stock photo.

It's a sink right? I see it now

GregLoker said 805 days ago:

I'm mostly curious... is the colour the result of photoshop or a filter combination? Good interpretation of the theme.

where is the water?

Interesting to see the discussion developing here...

@dawn - Thanks! I thought a bit of adventure might be in order here and this one immediately came to mind while scanning through my previous blog posts. I've often considered trying stock work since I do a fair amount of object photography, but I suppose I'm still on the fence.

@kpishdadi - Guilty as charged; this is a garden-variety rental apartment bathroom sink, shot handheld (and I'm proud to say, not rotated one bit in post) :-)

@GregLoker - Thanks, just trying to look at this one a bit outside the box, as it were. As far as the effect: I shoot only RAW and work exclusively in 16-bit mode in Photoshop. If I decide to really process, I'll typically only layer the image upon itself, changing blending modes here and there, tweaking transparency, with perhaps a bit of added blur before a final color balance and levels/curves. Only at this point will I convert to 8 bits per channel prior to saving out as JPEG. The key to the color shift here was an Invert adjustment layer set to Lighten and a final extra Curves adjustment layer set to Multiply. I hope that mostly satisfies your curiosity :-)

@winetou - the water is awaiting release from the bathroom tap :-)

Phil, it's very interesting to see people interpretation about water in this week theme, and i have to admit that your thumbnail really caught my attention.

Great processing, but I rate low for relevance since I do not see any water in the shot.
