i was drawn to this picture in the thumbnail because the design looked interesting. there's something quite darkly lyric about this which i like, i can imagine a cold wind blowing across the water, stirring ripples and memories of seasons past.

there is some pixellation in this which i find distracting, it's not just the ripples...

I love this. I know we've seen a lot of puddle reflections in the last two weeks, but this one is close to perfect. The colorful leaves over the autumn tree and the dark house - very nice!

Hi Geoffrey, thank you. I made this pic as part of a sequence for an Autumn 2005 slideshow - http://tinyurl.com/fbn7w .
The pixellation has probably come about because I used 'Save for Web' and it's only a 40k image now!
After being here (Weekly Shot) for a few weeks I'm learning to increase the web quality of my recent pictures. I'll redo this on my web site and see if I can decrease the distracting pixellation - thanks again.

Thank you Flatline. This puddle stretches from London to Birmingham and is part of the Grand Union Canal. The 'dark house' is one of just one a few built on the north side of Regent's Park and is valued and many millions of pounds.

the leaves add some good colour and its striking overall. Could try lightening it slightly near the bottom?

Thanks Luke, I might well try that .. I rarely 'fiddle around' with pictures, but this place is pretty inspiring .. maybe I'll invest in Photoshop CS and a couple of good 'Photoshop' books.
