This picture contains lots of interesting elements, such as:
the sagging girders which suggest bomb damage;
the spiky vegetation that is colonising the crumbling concrete;
the anonymous machine near the lefthand edge.

An inetresting image but the DOF setting makes it look very flat and 2 dimensional

A perfect fit for the theme. But compostion wise I think it would have had a greater impact if it had been shot from a slightly closer distance.

I like this one a lot. I like the B & W.

Thanks for your remarks. I won't discuss the DOF or "uniformity", if that's the way you see it, that's fine. But it's not a conversion from color, it's a scan from a B&W negative.

Wonderful composition. Very dramatic environment. The perfectly thought framing almost makes it look like a film set but this has to be real, one knows it is and the realisation saddens.
Then I find the toning really perfect. I only wish I could have been able to enjoy a bigger version of this. ;)
I may find at the closure of the challenge that this was my favourite picture, and hope I can see more of this.

I'll just add that the distanced position from the photographer is what adds this special something to this picture. The unemotional, withdrawn finish is what drew me in, only just with a delay.

Good shot, but I don't like so much the B&W conversion, it looks to me like some colors are missing and the whole shot is too "uniform".
