the focus on the flower is probably good for another theme, but it seems to draw me away from the actual decay. I keep trying to focus on the building to see what is there...

Nice contradiction here. Life and beauty amongst oppression and decay. The dof is bugging me a bit though. The background is somewhere between not sharp enough and not blurred enough. But I'm not sure how well the picture would work if it was any different.

I like the combination natural and man-made subjects - it fits the theme very well.

The lighting on the plant is very good, but I find the three windows in the background rather distracting.
