Man, I LOVE!! large, old industrial equipment. Awesome. This shot has an odd tonal/grainy quality to it that makes me wonder if it is an HDR composite. It's not a bad thing, just a technique I've seen recently that seems to have a unique look. to my taste it slightly affects the image quality.

Great shot, the clouds give it the proper setting.

Flatline, you're spot-on. It is an HDR composition and I agree, HDR images to tend to have tell-tale tones. They often look 'painterly' I think. It's a technique that I've been trying to master and I was quite pleased with the way this one turned out. I suspect that it's an acquired taste and I'm not sure it's a technique I'd use too often.
