If decay means "falling gently into beauty," then you've nailed it. Ever since Aaron Siskind (a pioneer in the abstraction of textured, deteriorating surfaces) drew my attention to the beauty of flaking paint, I've been delighted by images such as this.

I love the different colours and textures - the bleached timber and the crumbling plaster.

It has an 'old world' feel to it. I really love this image. The colours, lines and framing are dead on.

To me, this is a beautiful picture but speaks to longevity and survival, not decay. The place looks ancient to me, solid, and withstanding the ravages of time. Great color, nice composition. All around wonderful picture, but not for this theme.

I dig this shot. It doesnt stand out to me though. I used to look at a lot of artwork of arabic doors that were all beat up, this reminds me of that, but is lacking some level of drama somehow.

This is a nice photo with good composition, but im not sure this doesnt fit into History rather than Urban decay. Still a good image.
