It's possible that it's not, but this looks like a little house in the country with a barn or something through the other side? Not sure about the snow globe. Might be a good touch for a different theme. Did you cut that screen? Looks freshly squared off. The top of the window is cut off and the angle seems to be based soley on what is being seen through that little square and the placement of the snow globe. Really love the old, decaying wood and that old fashioned looking screen. Wish I could see more of the place!

Nice idea, but the angle is abit off

I would like this shot alot more without the thing in the window- unfortunately that seems contrived to me.

Ana and Kyla,
This is a old, abandoned train terminal in Marathon, Texas. The (contrived, yes) snow globe is there because this is part of a series I took one Christmas holiday. The snow globe was a gift from a friend who was invited to join us on a trip but couldn't make it. So we photographed the snow globe everywhere we went. I could have retouched it out of the photo, of course but chose to leave it in. Everything else is as found--I didn't cut the screen.

Oipix: The building is actually leaning at the angle you see.

If anyone is interested, they can see the whole series (including a shot of the whole building) at

Thanks for your comments!

Why the snowglobe?

Roger said 750 days ago:

Intriguing! Is that a crystal ball on the window sill?

I second what Ana said- some people take gnomes you take a snowglobe. Hope your friend liked the pictures.
