But, I guess, it had to be a snapshot - the compo can't have been there to shoot for too long, surely...

I think this has TREMENDOUS potential, but the blurring of the people moving in this instance detracts (at least in my opinion) from the impact. I realize it could artistically be argued to help show movement, but for me, it actually lead to disappointment. The vantage point you chose was WONDERFUL and I would suggest taking more images from that venue. The promise is there!
