For the last 100 years, in a picture like this the windmill would have symbolized the past and the plane was representative of the future. Funny old world, innit.

Look out, it's those government sponsored societal control sprays I've heard so much about. I like this point of view, and the contrail (sorry conspiracy theorists) adds a little bit of interest.
