I find these insects...and most insects in general quite beautiful. So it's hard for me to see this an an ugly thing turned beautiful. But I guess there are some folks who get creeped out by bugs, and so to them this would be ugly. I'm finding the truncated legs and rather soft touch on most of the insect to be distracting. Also, the shiny blue band vies for my eyeballs which tend to drift to it rather than the bug. I like that one crisp wing!

Nice idea but a little dark for me and I'd like to see more of the bug (but I do like the blue bar thingy below it)..

the lighting and that blue thing in front are very distracting. looks like it was a very difficult shot to compose.

I don't like the harsh lighting in this. It is an ugly bug made much more interesting by the detail shown.
