i really enjoy the shallow depth of field in this photo. and the colours are rich and gorgeous

Good subject, but it is too centered and too much of the frame is wasted on out of focus bright areas. This would be a much stronger shot if you crop off about 25 % from the left and about 25 % from the top. Preferably in-camera, but during post processing would also work if you don't have sufficient close focusing ability with your gear. This simple change would make the image more dynamic, would have your subject looking into the frame, and would eliminate the bright, distracting areas.

this makes me sad...but it is a great shot!
