This is loud and eye-catching, and I like the design of the shot. The lack of a focal point...some area of primary interest, is unfortunate. Did you try "bracketing" your focus and depth of field?

This was a bit of an experimental shot in a few ways - I was out with my new camera for the first time, all excited, plus I was at a flower show and that made me even more excited. When I took it I liked the effect, but I agree with you now about the focus, King. If I had a second chance at this I'd try to get a larger depth of field and take it from an angle that focused on the bright yellow centre of the flower that you can just see towards bottom right.

Points for anyone who can correctly ID the flower type, BTW :)

Not enough contrasting color so the stamens blend into the background. I like the idea though.
