Thanks for the feedback Ana. I am curious, 90 clockwise, or 90 counterclockwise. I am not sure I agree, but I would like to picture what you have in mind.

Now I'm going to take a crazy guess here...Jarrett? This, of course, is a nearly flawless photograph and I could go on and on about its stellar qualities.

Is this rotated 90 degrees clockwise? Did you shoot it roughly straight down? I'd say that although the rope itself is, indeed, twisted, the graceful loop is more of a coil. The shadow is great and I like the counterbalance of the circular, countersunk bolt hole, too.

High marks.

@ King - This is shot straight down. That is early summer evening sunlight illuminating the scene. This was a rope that I found lying on top of Stearns Wharf here in Santa Barbara. It IS rotated, but, the rotation was accomplished by rotating my camera when I made the original capture, not later on the computer. This is the composition I had in mind when I saw this in the field.

J, very nice and especially like this one as you took it the very first time we met face to face. Congratulations. The eyelet on the left really adds much to the image. Save the rope, I'll need it to hang King's carcass off the Golden Gate Bridge!
