To me, this is almost a winner. The image seems a bit over-exposed and flat, whereas it seems to call for a deeper and more dramatic quality to the tones in the foreground tree, making it stand out even more against the background. I don't see much twisting, though.

I don't see anything that looks "twisted" in this photograph.
Also, there is no one thing that anchors it as a subject, or any sort of interesting pattern or texture, or anything really that stands out. This is largely the result of the framing, which seems either a) haphazard, or b) like you were attempting to include so many things in the shot that they all blended together into nothingness.
Sorry. I would be happy to recommend some excellent reading that would help you to improve on composition if you want. I don;t mean that as a snarky comment either, I am serious, I recommend these same books to alot of people. You can E-mail me directly if you want.

now this is a great shot, but it says "broken" a lot more than "twisted."
