Loving the composition in this. And the tones are lovely too, although I'd like to see the colour version as well.

I think I would like this better without the imposing tree in the left part of the frame.

Yeah, I know, I know. But there are other trees, too. I just find that the one big one really steals the focus of the image when there is such a beautiful landscape behind. I was really commenting on the general composition of the photo, rather than it's relevance to the theme.

honestly, had I posted one without that tall tree (which I do have, incidentally) someone would have said, "nice landscape photo, but the trees aren't the subject, the mountains are. This is one of my favorite photos from Utah. It shows that tall tree, looming over the other trees, the mountains, and even the sky. It also had a double trunk, and that was pretty cool. :)

You're right about that. I tend not to be quite a stickler to relevance as some of the others. I'd rather see a great shot (mostly) relevant than an average shot (highly) relevant.
