What strange, unearthly beauty. It seems that you were very busy for a good while, working on this photograph--nothing wrong with that. What did you do to create these effects? I could guess, but I'd rather just hear it from you.

I've been to Bryce Canyon, but I don't think I saw this tree, although I'm sure I've seen photographs of it in the past.

Oooohhh...I know *exactly* where that tree is. :-) I think the treatment is interesting and looks like a cross between painting and photography. If I looked at it strictly as a photograph, I'd say it was over-processed but if I look at it as a piece of art, I'd say I'd hang it in my house. :-)

I did some local contrast with unsharp mask + levels, curves, colors, dodge/burn. This was taken on a cold morning last spring!
