I'm sorry, but I've looked really hard for a few minutes now, and I can;t find anything in this image that remotely relates to "3".
I'd appreciate it if you would provide some information in these comments about what the relevance is, because obviously, you thought it was relevant for some reason, and I'd like to see it how you are seeing it.
As far as the image itself...it's a pretty nice shot of a bird in flight. However, the horizon isn't straight. It is an over-the-water horizon and therefore, unlike a terrestrial horizon, it would have to be straight or just slightly curved. IMHO that really detracts from what is otherwise a nice shot. That sort of thing is really easy to fix and always should be fixed IMHO.

1- Sea
2- Sky
3- Bird
I guess this three is the only thing i see in this photo, You can see three subjects only in this pic..
Let me know if someone sees four, then i guess it cant be counted :)

trying hard to see the relvance....
Ana said 734 days ago:
after reading your explaination, I still see a bird. The other 'subjects' just aren't the focus of the shot. cool picture, though!
gorin-images said 734 days ago:
Ahhh. Now I see sort of how it's relevant. I think I agree with Ana though: You have done such a great job of emphasizing the bird as the subject, that the other stuff doesn't "count" as items #2 and #3.
I like your analysis though ;) Mine would look like this:
1- Bird
2- Everything Else
Still a cool shot (but fix the horizon) ;)

legs + body + wings = 3
:-))

I can see three things in this image, and i like the horizon too. The horizon doesnt have to be straight.
This picture shows three things, May be the image is a little hard for understand for you guys??? since it wasnt with flourensent colors or just with 3 simple birds :)

Perhaps I am missing something, but I don't see the relevance to the theme. This is a good capture because of the movement and difficulty of focusing on a flying bird, but it lacks a completely crisp focus.

You guys dont see a sea?
You guys dont see a bird?
You guys dont see a sky?
Cant this three makes a three? You will see only this three... You cant see four subjects.. Just three....
?? If there was a delete button.. i would have deleted it by now :)
faustina said 734 days ago:
Don't feel like you should delete it, altough I'm sure you are tired of the "I don't get it" by now, as long as you get it you should be proud of it. I thing the bird itself is fantastic.

You said:"May be the image is a little hard for understand for you guys??? since it wasnt with flourensent colors or just with 3 simple birds"
Yes, it IS hard to see 'three' as part of this picture. If you took 20 people off the street and asked them to use 20 words to describe this picture as opposed to the one with '3 simple birds' I'm guessing the word 'three' will be used for the other shot, and not yours. The one thing I've learned at weekly shots is to really try and be very, obviously relevant, and not rely on ambiguity. (that is sort of the point)
You also say that we should see three subjects. Honestly, I see one MAIN subject. Again, if someone asked, "What is the main subject of this shot?" The answer would be "a bird." If someone asked the same of the one with "3 simple birds" the answer would be '3 birds.'
See the theme there?
Not trying to be a smart ass, but it really does have to be very obviously relevant for it to be relvant. Chalk in 'learning experience' and move on. Its one shot at WS, not the world. :)

Allright :)
COoool,

Not certain to the relevance really. An interesting capture. I feel the backdrop spoils the composition really but I do understand, you cannot choose where these things occur. I would have waited for a more relevant opportunity to post this.
mooch said 734 days ago:
Ok, read the comments now. No, I feel, quite strongly that you wanted to enter this shot and like a turner prize nominee, have tried to manipulate the relevance. I totally back gorin/ana (ana very articulately argued her point I felt) on this. There is but one subject that has been further emphasised by your DoF and composition. The fact the horizon isn't straight matters not but they are so much on the periphery, three cannot be justified.
I promise you, if I get a really good shot that is not relevant, I'll hold onto it. That way, when the them does come up and theme that suits arrives, the impact will be greater.
Generates an interesting debate none the less, fuelled by your insistence to being justified. We all agree, it is a good shot, just not relevant and marked accordingly. Sorry.

I belive i am wrong, I was in a hurry to upload a picture and uploaded this, thinking this way it can be counted. i tried to prove it on my own theory and it didnt worked out.. :)
Thanks to you all,

What? Oh! ha ha!
tenebrophilia said 733 days ago:
... also, the line of the bird's wing, tail and leg against the sky looks kind of three-shaped.
zorilla said 731 days ago:
Well it's three times the flier I'll ever be

I dont think this really fits the theme well. Maybe I'm not seeing it right.

Although I don't know how this is relevant to the theme, it is a wonderful photo, perfect moment captured.
