Not sure how possible it would've been to capture this from a different angle, but I think that would've added something to it.

However, I really do like the detail and depth of field in this - Looks great.

I entitled this shot 'Photo Finish'.

No, I feel this angle of approach is suitable.

This one is my favorite between the two. I love how the slower snail is looking at the others!

flawijn said 865 days ago:

i love those snails! they're like racing side by side :-)

Great color range.

I like this one even better!

I think I know which of these snails is going to lose the race (assuming that first image is from earlier on and the lower snail hasn't in fact "caught up")....

Having read the other comments, I have to add that I like this particular angle. But I also crave to see the head-on view of the approaching snails, shot from right on the deck!

splendor-solis said 864 days ago:

My comment doesn't say the angle isn't suitable :)

I really like the photo, but I still believe another angle *MAY* add something to the shot.

mooch said 864 days ago:

It is in keeping with the current featured image of the same subject. That of a race. Hence the choice of angle.

Nothing to say but.... perfection! Snails are not the easiest animals to photograph. If this does not become a featured image, I will be exceptionally surprised. The clairty and the composition are amazing!

Lovely shot.

Race is on! I really like this shot. The only think I might try differently is getting a greater depth of feild. Here is why I say that... I see the two in the background as "ahead" of the one that is in focus even though physically the one in foreground is closer. Giving a greater DOF I think would solve that.
