Now that I look again, I guess one of those shadows belongs to that same guy in the frame...so even the shadows don't quite add up to three.

Three... people? The shadows that I see are a little confusing because there's a horizontal one too, so I am not sure if I'm seeing three people (two shadows) or what... sorry!

Well, it's actually 2 people's shadows plus 1 person in the frame, so that's where the "three" comes in. But you guys are right in that the left shadow is difficult to interpret as someone's. I guess I just didn't see it as that because it's my shadow! Haha!
I didn't want to post something that was distinct and obvious (what's the fun in that?), but rather something people would have to look at to interpret and try and see how I was trying to fit it into the theme. I wanted this photo to give the impression that there were three people here, when in actuality it was really just two.
I guess I failed there :(

I am having a really hard time seeing "3" here. I thinkyou mean the guy with his back turned toward you plus the two shadows of the other people.
I thinks it's OK and still relevant if "3" isn;t 3 of the exact same thing...or the number "3" or the word "three", but in that case there needs to be three very distinct subjects that really stand out. There's so much other stuff inthe frame here that it is hard to say those shadows are "subjects". It seems more like theyjust happened to end up in the shot along with the buildings, fence, hole, aircraft, etc.
Sorry.
