What's causing the bands in this photo? Was it taken through blinds or something?

Looks like it would be a stellar photograph, but I find the bands distracting. If it's intentional, I'm pretty curious to hear why.

Superb. I hope this gets featured :)

I like this...but I can;t figure out what is going on with those black horizontal lines in the sky. The lowest one down looks like natural shadows along the base of the clouds, but as they get progressibvely higher up the frame, they also get progressively more confusing as to what they really are and why they are there. Could you provide some info about this? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the comments everyone. This was a somewhat experimental image attempting to create a "through the blinds" effect, which I ended up liking a lot more than I expected, although I had no idea how it might be received. The overall ratings are high and I'm happy with them. The lowest category is the "Quality" category, which I imagine stems from some folks seeing the lines as a "defect."

Anyway, hope this helps make sense of the image.

lovely image... the longer I look though, the vertical shading in the clouds, while interesting, seem a bit contrived or over processed

Is this a shot of a TV screen or are those horizontal lines supposed to be there? Other than the stripes this is a simple and elegant composition and color.

Having the three silos overlap and squished together adds something to the comp.

i love this shot...but what are the lines from?

Those bands in the sky are very distracting and look unnatural. I think there's also a bit too much unsharp mask applied in post-processing. Like the other photos of this same subject better.
