I think this is a fantastic shot. The processing really gives maximum impact, and the composition is strong.

I like the composition and the shadows. What I would say is that it seems a little over exposed which has burnt the highlights somewhat, which is a shame.

the tones make it look like it was a very hot day! nice shot! love the composition!

Thanks for all the comments. It was actually a very conscious decision for the washout look. I wanted the cyclists disappear (loss of details) just a little bit into the white background. However I do appreciate all your suggestions, which are valid.
Thanks.

Wow! Very intense feel to the image. I love the almost minimalist background and the harsh shadows.

Thanks guys. I've got 2 'wows' now. See if I get a third to make it to the "three" theme. :)
"Drawing" (or simple sketching) is what I had in mind when I made the conversion. I am happy that you guys liked it. I am very flattered.

Great clean composition and simple, striking subject.

Relevance is readily apparent and my reaction to the photo is generally quite positive given the composition and the simplicity of the image (ie the background is very clean and the focus is decent on the bikers). What I have some difficulty with is the washed out appearance of the image. I realize that this may be a conscious decision as part of your composition and style, but it seems to carry over a bit to strong on the bikers, making them less than sharp (for example the left legs of the two lower bikers are the same tone as the course...with the result that definition is lost). IMHO a bit darker image would have given better tones. All in all, despite my comments here, I like the image quite a bit. Good impact and composition.
