thanks shadereplied...yeah, i screwed this shot up in the top left. actually posted the wrong photo and did not realize until hours later. i rotated the photo a fraction and had not cropped this copy.
BUT...on the cropping of the floor area i liked it the way it is - because it gave a feeling of 3's horizontally. as well as the three obvious chairs. (imho)

Deb, I really like this shot and I am not at all surprised it got featured. It's excellent.

Mooch, c'mon man....your comment immediately preceding this one? What't eh point of that? It isn't constructive, and doesn't help, or provide valuable insight to anyone. If you disagree with someone's comments and feel compelled to argue about it in comments...then I suggest you say something that has a remote potential to be perceived as a valid counter-argument..as opposed to what you chose to say in this case.

I actually agreed with Shade's comments, and then I read reality's response and I see why she chose, at least in the case of the floor, to do it the way she did (although I think she meant to say "vertically"). Both were valuable and intelligent comments.

Whether and/or how many times you get featured on WeeklyShot doesn't indicate how great of a photographer you are or whether you "know" or "don't know" about composition....or anything else for that matter...

If people are willing to provide intelligent comments, I take them seriously regardless of their "featured" percentage. And if someone makes an effort to critique your work, whether or not you agree with them, you should at least respond respectfully if you are going to respond at all IMHO.

I say this stuff not to bag on you, or make you look foolish etc. I just think you'd be better served by channeling your energy into something more constructive then arguing other people's opinion's aren;t worth something because of their statistics at WeeklyShot. Seriously ;)

I hope this thread doesn't deteriorat einto an argument that detracts from Reality's excellent featured image. Nice work Deb!

This shot is a great example of balanced composition, lighting and hue. Very nicely done.

Sorry, I seem to have touched a nerve here, but just for the record I gave reality an opinion, not advice. No harm was intended and I appreciated the response.

Gorin, just read your comment, the shade, seems to wish to crop everyones image. He is like a broken record when it comes to this suggestion. I find it irksome.

Being featured what does it tell you about a persons work, or is this just a pointless exercise?

Being featured to me is a wonderful happening.

The birds start to sing and a giant rainbow appears. I am suddenly transformed into a 20 year old girl with blond flowing hair.
Small elves dance about while gold bullion spill out of their pockets...
