Nice find, good capture. I like the way the dashed line on the sidewalk leads you right to the guy.

I would think that it would be hard to sleep on a street corner with all the noise, regardless of the comfort level of the disheveled couch....nice find.

I greatly enjoy this image. It is such a juxtaposition of various elements.... the obvious - davenport in the midst of a city intersection, the artistic - use of black and white with the very modern citiscape, the human interest - a bland corner, with a very curious situation.

All high marks from me!

Is the fellow on the couch a homeless person or just someone laying around? His dress suggests he is not homeless, but I am not sure.

Thanks for the comments.

The person is your typical San Francisco homeless guy hanging out next to Golden Gate Park. He was lucky enough to find an abandoned couch. I was walking by and couldn't resist taking a photo.

With the inevitable implosion of subprime mortgages and evictions & repossesions at an all time high, images like this are becoming more and more expected.

I saw a lot of similar things when in Shanghai two years ago...
Great shot and well-deserved feature.

agi said 245 days ago:

Thank you everyone for your ratings, comments and for the "feature". My wish would be that this scene isn't common throughout the world as we all deserve a place to call home but I'm also a realist. Thanks!
