I've heard it said that one of the greatest threats to songbirds (in the US) is pet cats. The moment you've got here is quite a moment. I wish it were cropped in more on the cat's face and the bird so I could get a closer look. The white whiskers are great. To me the subject of this shot is the cat, rather than the bird, and so "the end" doesn't work as well because that's the bird's POV, not the cat's. The cat's got another beginning here.

There is sth dramatic about this photo and the blue light from behind adds to it. The cat's bright green eyes and the bird's bright red beak are good high-lights.

definately the end for one creature, but the atsrt of al ovely meal for another...colour balance on this image is offputting, if it was for effect it needed to be more pronounced, in my opinion....and depth of field was v.shallow

Yikes! That's the ultimate end. The red, red of the beak is great. The shadow and glare on the floor detracts a bit from the impact of the image, though.

Thank you for these interesting comments. Of course, I take the point of view of the victim. Technically speaking, The light was low and I was at a very slow speed with no DOF. Considering the contrast and color, I'm on the side of Groen65 and Haiete: I like this blue... :o)
