I like the tones. Call me nit picky, but I don't find it to be strongly relevant though clearly the intent is "the end" of someone's life. However, as I see it "the end" is a specific moment or point in time. A man on his death bed is at the end of his life. He's still living, and he's at the end of his mortal existence. Once he's died he's no longer at the "the end." He's beyond it...perhaps into "the beginning" of his death. In this case the headstone seems quite old, which means he's been dead a long time. Just one person's opinion :-) However, I do like the grain and would like to see more detail on the star - seems a bit dark.
