I have no idea what this is, but I like the depth of field.

Cool interpretation. Too me it looks like a million crying faces... disposed of and left behind. I like the monotone quality.

I must be missing something seeing the "The End" theme in this image. Can't wait to read the rest of the comments to see if I'm the only one missing it. I love the faces and wonder what this was originally, or where it was even, as the repitition is really nice. As a photo without the theme I think the OOF wall doesn't add anything and cropped to a panoramic makes it much stronger and simpler.

OK I read the rest of the comments and they don't shed any light on what I'm missing. Anil tell me, us, what you were conveying with the theme. I love that you were seeing and trying to say something but hate that I missed it since I like the image (cropped especially). The artist in me needs to know.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. Ok, I thought this would be pretty straight forward :) This is actually an art installation in the Jewish Museum in Berlin. The faces are supposed to represent the Jews murdered by the Nazis. The artist actually requests visitors to walk over the faces! Needless to say that can be a pretty unnerving experience. At least it was for me as it felt as if I was walking over dead bodies. To make a long story short, I thought the death of the Jews, as represented by the faces, fit this theme. I hope this clears the waters a little.

Anil- With the explanation it makes more sense. Having not ever heard of this exhibit or seen it in person the point behind it was far from clear. I can see how this was eery to walk across. This now makes me wonder about the scale of the faces. I originally viewed them as being small in size. Thanks for explaining.

Dan: No problem at all. If you ever find yourself in Berlin then don't miss this museum. It is perhaps the best museum I've ever seen. Minimalistic but very effective in conveying the tragedy of the holocaust through very intelligent use of light, architecture and art such as shown in the above photo. If I remember correctly the faces are equivalent in scale to a human face.
