Well shot, but too macabre for my tastes.

Is the knife falling?
philippe said 584 days ago:
Two pictures in one? Mmmmh, isn't this called cheating? ;o)
All 5, anyway.

powerful, yet the hand position seems odd to me from the first to second shot, and the contrived set up is more obvious because of that.
schmee said 584 days ago:
@dave: yes it's in mid air.
@philippe: personally, i consider diptychs to be 1 piece and i expect that people will rate them together instead of one or the other.
@ana: the frames are meant to be different points in time and not two angles of the same moment.

The falling knife is just superb!!!
Go Hungary!! :)

Personally I think the diptych is one image from a creative standpoint even though technically it is two. Once image compliments and supports the other to tell a story and I think it works and is out of the box for this theme. Something I very much like.

So she moved?
schmee said 584 days ago:
well, yes, the first photo caught the moment right when the knife fell. surely she wouldn't have been dead right away. takes a while to bleed to death.

I think the shot on the left is great- and the one on the right is superfluous and subtracts from an already strong image and story.

What did you use as the blood?
schmee said 582 days ago:
"vampire blood" from the dollar store. comes in squeezable tubes and is eerily convincing.
philippe said 582 days ago:
Diptich? WTF is that? ;o)
Seriously, I was not accusing you in any way, I was just trying to make a joke, in reference to a recent discussion on WS group. I repeat: I gave you all five. If I should make a critic, I would join Kyla and say that one of the two pics is enough to get the idea. I prefer the first one because of the knife caught in motion. Also, I think a woman wouldn't use such a big knife, but that's only a personal feeling. :o)

sorry, i didn't mean to come off defensive. just stating my view on the whole diptych / triptych as a single photo view.
if the first photo would have had the same angle in the hand as the second then i think i would have left it as is, but i wanted to get the blood running through the palm.

That's the artists choice. Great job, anyway.
;o)

Superb but of course disturbing.
