It's not really a shot that grabs me as being particularly releveant to the theme (but then I have quite strong feelings as to what is relevant - so don't take that to mean much!)

I think the composition is a bit tight, the boat could do with a little more space around it to breath - and I feel that the side on view has been dodged a little bit too much so as to make it not look natural ... I wonder whether it being darker/in shadow this side might actually have worked a little better?

That said I love the moment - it's very restful and the heron adds greatly giving a living touch to the shot.

dicksdaily...... Thanks for your perceptive critique. My cropping always tends to be tight and I go back and forth when deciding how far to push it. A little more space probably would have helped the feng shui of it.

As far as the theme.... a sinking boat always says "the end" to me!
