over heated, out of fuel, a long way to go, not at the end??, but I guess it was maybe the end? Good sky but a lot of dead space, it leaves me wanting to see more, and a little empty myself...

I don't see this as an end. Maybe a beginning to pushing, to walking, to getting help. If the car was on its own, broken down, I might see it as the end. But with the people around, it seems more of a beginning to something else to me.

feels a bit more about "not being able to reach the end" to me, something about the faint activity on the horizon line says "there is something out there if i can just get to it"

That dirt road there stopped. That's the end of it. This is in the badlands of Mongolia and those roads which change every season are the only way to know where you are going. I was indeed a passenger in this car. The "activity" on the horizon is a heat mirage. I assure you there's nothing "out there". Luckily a man on a camel came along and helped ups find our way. Thanks for the comments all.
