this is a nice stop action shot. beautiful tonality, and great composition. but it doesnt say to me 'decisive moment'.

Fantastic! A great moment, and I like the sepia toning. Such wonderful timing. That said, I would probably like to see a little more on the right side of the photograph, both for balance and because it is often disconcerting to see someone/thing looking directly off the side of a picture. I also think I may see a bit of a halo from slight over-sharpening, which would not be a huge surprise, as I'm certain you weren't two feet away from the bird when it took off! It is, however, still a great capture.

I spent 10 years trying to take this picture and never managed it.
Well done to you .

This is very well done. It's composed nicely and the timing is perfect. The black, white and greys also help define the "stop, go and somewhere in between" nature of the photo.

What a stretch. And right on the tip of launch.

Outstanding and a perfect fit for the theme.

Stunning shot, i love the composition, and the toning is superb. My only problem with this image is the sharpening halo around the birds body, other than that, spot on :-)

I love this, I am glad you went with the sepia on this. Very powerful.

A wonderful capture, very relevant to the theme imho and a very pleasing photo.
