Wow, you're quite fierce, zorilla. Why couldn't I think that this diptych should have been taken by two different photographers or it wouldn't be interesting at all? Thank you very much for your comment.

This is two moments and by the nature of it being two moments from two differant points in time and place it defeats the idea of the theme.

Baris,
I'll try to expand/ explain why it doesn't work for me for the theme. Even if taken at the exact same time it's still two differant places being captured, the covergence of the elements into one isn't by accident or fate or what have you but by you. You have chosen to connect the elements into one, so rather than it being many paths connecting at a point in time and place to create an extraordanairy image, your presence and handywork is felt by the decision to place them together.
Probably doesn't make sense, but that's how I'm interpreating the theme and to me this image doesn't convey that idea of "that instant in time when serendipity brings extraordinary images together in front of a lens."
But hey, that's just me. :-)

Jeremy, thank you very much for your comment(s). I can see why you and the other commentor don't think this photo fit for the theme. Although nothing really "extraordinary" happens here, I thought that the fact that the reflection on the glasses is more or less (with a lap of one second or two) the same "frame" on the right may be interpreted as a decisive moment. I find this theme to be quite problematic: do you really think a "decisive moment" should be created by accident or fate?

I like the mini-story that the photo(s) build.

Hmmmm - kinda like a comic book scene - wonder what the next frame tells....

Baris,
I've posted a bit of a long winded explanation of my thoughts on the idea of "The Decisive Moment" in the Weeklyshot GoogleGroup, which I won't go into here.
That said and read (perhaps)I've thought much about this image in the last 23 hrs.
Although not quite what I would perceive as TDM, I have developed a liking for the image for it's approach to the idea of TDM. The image is taking the idea of TDM somewhere I hadn't considered, almost a lateral thinking approach to the concept.
As I cannot re-rate the image to bump up the scores with a new found appreciation of the image and how I interpret your interpretation (which may be quite differant to what your intention may have been) I have gained something and my life is a little richer from your image.
So what I'm trying to say I suppose is, I now like the conceptual path you've taken and thanks for sharing it with us. :-)
Jeremy

This is 2 pictures taken at different times. Maybe if they'd have been taken at exactly the same time by 2 different photographers it would have made an interesting study but they weren't so it isn't.
