The shallow DOF of this shot seems to detract from the textural nature of the subject. My eye wants to see the wood texture as well, and most of it is out of focus. What caused the blue halo around the sky?

The lichen is quite beautiful. Is this truly horizontal in reality? Or is it simply the way you have turned the image?

Pretty good execution but the shot lacks impact. I like the color, though.

I think this would have greater impact with greater DOF - leaving all of the textures in focus.

Very cool concept and I really like the framing. I wish the shallow depth of field was contained behind the textures. I think having it right up front loses a bit of impact for me but I really do like the image.
