I actually find the bokeh a bit distracting on this - I almost want as much as possible in focus - but nitpicking here! It's cool.

For me, here the shallow DoF works, cause I can see enough of the main subject and it's texture. Love the bug!! High marks!

I like the idea of the image, and it is certainly filled with texture. However, for me, I would think it would be far stronger if you stepped back a little more so we could have a better idea of what the object is.

I apologize a bit for not including in my comment above.... the insect is, in my opinion, an excellent addition to the photograph. I love the range of colors as well as textures.
