It looks computer generated? The wall behind it shows more texture than the object in front.

Well, In my opinion, both the subject and background offer texture.. The subject offers a smooth velvety texture while the contrasting background offers a hard sharp texture..

And NO, it's not a CG image and absolutely no editing has been done to the photo other than resize in Picasa2. The photo was taken in Denia, Spain. It was a light on the outside of a boutique.

I love the lighting in this. The edges of that lamp look so smooth. I wish the right portion of the image wasn't just a stark black void though. I would've moved around to get the full backdrop behind the lamp. Very nice.

Seem like for this theme, you focused on the wrong subject. The wall behind the object is very textural and I want to see more of it. The main subject is in fact a little flat and therefore not very strong, especially for the theme.

I guess having a complete understanding of the English language is hurting my entry here.. I mean, the word "texture" does NOT mean "corse", or "rough", or anything in particular. It just describes the surface.

As in, the texture of that red light looks to be very smooth!!!

Is this a paper lantern? The color is wonderful. Such a smooth texture, which counts towards its relevance in my opinion.

JimiThing.. The light/lamp/lantern, etc was made from a slightly opaque red plastic material with a bulb on the inside.. They had them in different shapes and colors.. I wanted them all as they screamed SMOOOTH and, I wanted to touch them all.. lol
