OK, so unlike the dog that is exposing its belly, this kitten is damn cute. The hair is very visible and it looks so soft, as does the cow-hide pattern behind it, the expression is also very cute and the lighting is quite good.

when it comes to cat vs. dog in softness, cats win hands down - and I am both a dog and cat person with no preference. If you compare this to the other most recent BELLY shot there is absolutely no comparison, even though they are almost identical poses. (http://www.weeklyshot.org/theme/soft/response/63/)
Besides you like quite a bit of contrast, not to day that this image is perfect, but it is very soft, IMHO. :-)

Yeah, Tracy I seem to be terribly spoiled by all my work in TV and Films, everybody always want everything to punch!!! Hey I rated this image VERY high!!! I hope it hits the homepage...
BTW, were you right 'bout the dog's belly and who was responsible??

What a pose!
And the kitty is almost camouflaged against the background.

Oh no, I guess I started something yesterday. I didn't mean to offend anyone. This is a much cutter pose!

Awesome photography, makes me want to turn my head in all directions to find the right orientation. Great expression of the cat.

Being a dog person, I rather tired of seeing cat pics, but I won't hold that against you in the scores...
I like this image, just seems a bit flat in the tonal range. The spots on the pillow are black so I assume the cat is gray and white, so it's no the dark values that are flat it is the upper ranges that need a boost, IMHO.
