I love this, very, very nice. If I had a comment, I would say to lose the orange objects and just really focus on the subject. I would paint them out to just have a negative space there. High marks, tho..

Nice color cast and balance ! What's the red point ?

This is very good - it shows the tough and prickly underside of perceived softness. The reddish bokeh spot in the corner rounds out the composition nicely. Also, the shallow DOF, often a distraction in macro photography, really helps create a sense of softness here, and puts the focus on the stamen.

Thanks everybody, I didnt expect this good a reception..
Beamer - I know what you mean, but its a little empty without it..
JIMJIM - the red spot is the sun seting through trees.

I know that this flower would be soft to the touch, but interestingly the part that is emphasized is pointed and not soft. Nevertheless, it is an interesting presentation and I like the photo (...although I might get rid of the red spot in the upper right corner).

I know this was featured in b&w but this is good in it's own right!

Cheers Jeff, I see where you're coming from
DrDave - I fear you have me confused with someone else, but thanks

Wow, this is very well done. I love the shallow depth of field and the fact that the detail. I probably would've not cut so much off but I love it, nonetheless.
