Unfortunately with all the bright colours this image feels more vibrant than soft

This is too busy to say much of anything, including soft. The material in the foreground is probably lovely, but it way out of DOF, the child is lost somewhere in the clutter...

I am not sure what it is about this image, but I find it a bit chaotic and disturbing. At one level I know it is a sleeping, young child. This would and is cute. I presume the "soft" aspect relates to the focus? I am not sure this level of focus was productive to the picture or not, for to me the blur being SO extensive causes me to feel that chaos and disturbance I mention.
