For me the added darkening on the side in Photoshop lessens the impact of an otherwise cool image. Since I'm a graphic artist by trade to me it adds an amateurish effect to an otherwise cool image. I wish I saw more of the sky and less of the light on the water but that's mostly because I'm a sucker for skies. Personally a beautiful cloud formation is more interesting than the reflection of the light on the water but the image works.
