This is the first neon sign to be erected in my home town of Sheffield (UK). It's advertising a company called Woollen Signs Ltd which, as far as I know, is still going.

This sign used to be a very familiar local landmark, but now it's almost entirely obscured by office blocks.

I love this sign! I used to be able to see it from the building where I work, but now they've build flats in front of it - if it's still standing. It was always great in the dark.

The company itself still exists, but they have moved elsewhere in town, or probably out of town.

Somebody knit a house cozy once (yes, think sweater that goes over a house). Maybe it's the same. ;-)
