I think it says, "Don't fall backwards into that pit behind you." However, my French is pretty weak.

This is an interesting photo, but I have to say my eye is drawn much more to what's going on in the mirror rather than the sign.

Interesting perspective - the composition works well - it still looks 'minimal' whilst actually carrying a lot of content.
