I like it. The soft focus is interesting, particularly given the nature of the rigid metal object that is the subject here. Also, I like how it is the shadow that reveals the true shape of the subject, even though you can see the entire subject within the frame too. Cool idea!

Gorin, your pretty much spot on as to what I was attempting to do. It took me about three hours in Photoshop to get from A to Z, although I did go via most of the alphabet as I didn't know how to get the look I wanted. A good learning experience, and a look and feel I'm going to investigate further.
