There seem to be sharpening artifacts on the borders of the shadows.

This just looks way over edited in Photoshop to me. The table and chairs look much too blurred for that shadow to be so sharp. Plus the shadow looks like it's been sharpened to within an inch of it's life. If the shot doesn't fit the theme then shoot something else and don't try to edit it to suit. Sorry!
