I find it really hard to rate this image - and it's hard to explain why. This doesn't really make sense: but I really love the shot - I love the relaxed pose - it's totally relevant (in fact it's the only shot on WS that i've ever given and excellent on relevance!) it's a really nice composition - BUT those shadows on her face make her face look almost - i'll be tactful as possible here! - un-natural(?) - and quite clearly she isn't and the photo isn't. It's amazing how those shadows can seemingly produce such conflicting feelings and almost make the shot look 'awkward' .... but for those very reasons it means i've looked at it for longer than any other image here .... and ended up liking it more than any shot here! .... As I said before ... this probably doesn't make sense!!

the shot is indeed awkward and you make perfect sense. thanks for taking the time. for me this shot was all about contrasts. light and dark. happiness and sadness. why is she hiding, yet so happy to be in the shadows? is she mocking us or hiding something? i have looked at this one myself often and everytime think differently about it. that is why i love it so much, i makes me think.
