The shadow is distracting. You have beautiful eyes and should endeavor to bring out the color even more.

Nice! A photographer who actually photographs himself clearly in a self-portrait. I really like that you are not trying to hide here, and that you haven't blurred the shot, and that it isn't just of your eye. It's just you, looking very comfortable in front of the lens. Nice job. My only complaint is that dark shadow across your face. It looks accidental and I find it fairly distracting. It's too bad because the lighting on the left side of the photo is very good, especially on your eye.

I would have liked to see both of your eyes in the light!
