Reminds me of a CD/album cover. Great effect that makes a traditional composition into something quite different.

This is one of those shots that some might not like because of the grain, but it is sure 'my kind' of portrait. I dig. It speaks.

Something about this is very rockstar to me. I think it reminds me of jim morrison.

I like the grain in this. However, the white streaks are a bit distracting. I keep looking at this because there is definitely something that draws me into it.

Lovely grain and noise on this ... if I didn't know you I wouldn't like to meet you on a dark night .......!

It's all a bit early 80's goth innit. I'd call this "All Back To Bauhaus"

I had a really hard time rating this photo. I'm typically not a fan of the (imo) overly-photoshopped images. I left the technique and image quality with no rating for that reason.

I like this a lot. The grain is right at the threshold. Any more and I think it would be too much.

I really like the choice of pose, the style, and the "scratches." I think for a portrait, though, I want to see more detail in the face. Regardless of that, though, I'd be happy to see this on the homepage. Nice one, Fredrik.

I really like the shot but I wish you had picked either the background or your face to post process.

I know this image, and have always thought of it as a good self-portrait. It is a conscious effort to show oneself in a certain way and using various photographic techniques. High marks from me, I think it works really well.

thanks for the comments all! i really appreciate the feedback!
just to make one thing clear; the scratches and grain are *not* added in post-process... they're a result of cross-processing slide film. the post processing of this image goes something like this: crop, de-saturate colors, resize, sharpen and save. that's it.

Interesting photo, I like the appearance of the scratches--almost gives it a feeling of motion.
